Op-Ed: Apple may have another tablet on the way in

The rumor mill is swirling that Apple may have another tablet than the iPad ready to launch. Could there be another tablet coming from Apple within a year?

The big news in January was the iPod, Apple's latest tech toy. If an article from Tech Crunch is correct there may be another tablet coming by years end that will be more like a Mac than an iPhone. While still in the rumor mill there is speculation that Apple will be putting another tablet device out before Santa comes 'round next winter. Chances are if Apple is about to announce another tablet it will do so in June. June is generally the time of Apple's WWDC, when the Mac folks show off its latest products. If the water cooler gossip is correct expect to pay more for the newer model. The word is it will be bigger than the iPad, comparable to a laptop or desktop model. Chances are it will also be a touch screen system. While this is still in the rumor stage Tech Crunch says that their source is realible. Could it be that Apple is waiting to hook people on the iPad before offering something even more powerful? If that's the case the newer model will be on many techies Christmas list in December.
