Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani has come back from his visit to Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union and stated that Muslim countries have agreed on the proposal to call Jan. 19 "International Gaza Day."
After returning from the sixth session of the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union in Uganda on Monday, Parliament Speaker Iran Ali Larijani announced that Muslims have agreed to name Jan. 19 “International Gaza Day,” according to
Press TV.
Larijani returned on Monday from an eight-day visit to Kuwait and Uganda where he met with President Yoweri Museveni and Parliament Speaker Edward Ssekandi. Throughout his visit, Larijani was accompanied by the head of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Broujerdi.
Islamic Republic News Agency reports that Larijani also told reporters at the Mehrabad international airport that the Union came to the conclusion that every Islamic state has the right to possess technology to produce nuclear energy.
This comes as the United Arab Emirates Parliamentary Division invited the participating nations of the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary to explain before a regional committee the negative impacts of Israel’s alleged illegal acts and breached international resolutions, reports the
WAM Emirates News Agency.
