A single-engine plane, which was ironically reporting traffic, lands on the New Jersey Turnpike. No injuries were reported.
The plane landed on the northbound lanes in Cherry Hill New Jersey (about five miles east of Philadelphia) just before 7 a.m. this morning.
The plane was hired to give traffic reports to local news agencies, Philadelphia's KYW-AM and KYW-TV. The plane had two people aboard.
The landing caused traffic delays on the major highway. Traffic was only getting through on the shoulder. A small truck was brought in to remove the plane off the highway.
Huffington Post reports that a Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Arlene Salac says the landing was precautionary because of a low oil pressure indicator.
According to New Jersey 511, traffic has eased and there are no longer any major traffic delays.
