On Sunday, the Colorado Rockies signed infielder and two-time All-Star Melvin Mora to a one-year deal that will see him earn $1.275 million in 2010, according to

Mora, who can play multiple positions in the infield, will be a right-handed super utility player throughout the 2010 season, except for catcher and pitcher positions, notes

The Baltimore Orioles, who signed Garret Atkins from the Rockies, declined the $8 million option for Mora. The Orioles received Mora in 2000 in a trade with the New York Mets. Last season with the Orioles, Mora hit .260 with 8 home runs and 48 RBIs.
Since 1999, Mora has played with the New York Mets and the Baltimore Orioles. He holds a
career batting average of .278, 164 home runs and 693 RBIs. He is second all-time in games played at third base for the Orioles. Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson is first on the list.
