A new tape released by Osama bin Laden rails about American imperialism, but also warns of the dangers of man's role in global climate change.
According to the Associated Press, Bin Laden has released yet another tape just a week after an audio release had the Al Qaida chief proclaiming responsibility for the failed Christmas day bombing.
In the tape released yesterday, which has yet to be authenticated, bin Laden called for the global community to boycott goods made in the United States as well as the American dollar. Bin Laden blamed the United States, as well as many other industrialized countries, for global warming.
Part of the tape, which aired on Al Jazeera, warned Muslims of the dangers of global warming, and said that the best way to put an end to man-made climate change would be to cripple the American economy.
This is not the first time bin Laden has mentioned climate change and global warming in his messages, but it is the first time most of the message was dedicated to that topic. The latest tape also included almost no religious rhetoric, possibly signaling an attempt to appeal to more than just hard line Muslim fundamentalists.
