Large buck breaks into couples' home

By Sandy Sand     Jan 28, 2010 in Lifestyle
It was difficult for a man to decide who was more frightened after discovering a large male deer in his kitchen, him or the buck.
Mark Page and his wife, of Belleville, Illinois, didn’t know exactly what woke them up in the middle of the night. Breaking glass? Hooves?
When Page went to investigate, he discovered an uninvited guest, a 10- to 12-point buck in the kitchen with its head in the sink.
Page bolted back upstairs, while the spooked deer crashed through a different window than the one he broke through to get into the house.
Page said he doesn’t mess with large animals, especially one as large as this one.
The buck was estimated to be between a 10- and 12-pointer, the size of a male deer taken by measuring the animals antlers also known as the rack.
Page said the animal was injured by the broken glass, but police said he couldn’t be found after he escaped from the house.
