article imageClottey Shares His Thoughts on Pacquiao's Winning Streak

By Edwin Ladaga     Jan 27, 2010 in Sports
Some boxing writers and fans have criticized Pacquiao heavily when he made his opponents come down in weight. Joshua Clottey thinks that this is the reason why Pacquiao is winning his fights.
"Pacquiao always fights the best. But he always let them come down in weight. That is why he is winning his fights."said Joshua Clottey in a recent interview with Hard Core Sports Radio.
Clottey's opinion might have some element of truth in it when Pacquiao beat Oscar de la Hoya and Morales in their third fight. But Pacquiao clearly demolished fighters like David Diaz and Ricky Hatton in a weight that they were really comfortable.
But Clottey was also quick to give thanks and praise to Pacquiao by fighting him at the stipulated welterweight limit.
"Any true champion, Any great champion always fights the best. That is what Pacquiao is doing. Now Pacquiao is climbing up and fighting a real welterweight at 147 pounds. Not 144, not 145. I have to congratulate him on that." added the hard hitter from Ghana.
" I know Pacquiao is a very good fighter. He is one of my favourite fighters. I like him so much.I know what Pacquiao can do in the ring. I know what I can do in the ring. It is going to be an exciting fight."
The Pacquiao-Clottey encounter will happen Texas at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium in March 13. The fight is expected to attract 40,000 spectators in this billion dollar facility.
