Woman died from one gun shot, man arrested in Klamath, CA

A woman's body was found on a hill side, near the suspect's home on Monday, in Klamath, California. Investigation is still on going.
Amy Kaufmann, a 26 year old Cresent City woman was shot once on Sunday morning around 5 A.M. The shot proved to be fatal and the body was undiscovered until Monday morning.
The police responded to the Klamath home after receiving two phone calls on Sunday morning, both stating that a gun was involve in an incident at the residents of Robert L. Proctor. SWAT was called in to assist in the situation. Proctor had fled the scene by the time officers arrived, but with witness statements and evidence police continued the search for Proctor and the body.
A report from The Daily Triplicate stated that According to Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office Cmdr. Bill Steven, search and rescue crews found Kaufmann’s body in some brush on a hillside along P.J. Murphy Memorial Drive near Proctor’s home Monday morning. He said Kaufmann’s body was “taken” to that location, and it appears that she had died of a single gunshot wound.
The investigation is still ongoing and no additional information has been released at this time. However, Proctor is being held without bail.
Friends of Proctor, who would like to remain anonymous, said that "If Robert did do it, something else had to have been going on. Why would he shoot someone for no reason?" More questions for the police and investigators to answer.
When speaking with with those who knew both the victim and the suspect, say that the two didn't know each other at all. In fact, they first met on either Sunday morning or Saturday night. On the witnesses had introduced the two prior to the shooting.
