Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad told a press conference on Wednesday that he believes the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, could have been staged as a pretext to attack the Muslim world.
The terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, could have been fake, says the former Prime Minister of Malaysia Mahathir Mohamad, according to the Malaysian Insider. Dr. Mohamad delivered a speech at the General Conference for the Support of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) to give certificates of appreciation to nine Palestinians who were part of the Viva Palestina humanitarian aid convoy.
Dr. Mohamad said he believes the terrorist attacks, which killed nearly 3,000 people, were staged as an excuse to carry out attacks against the Muslim world, and said that there is strong evidence the attacks on 9/11 were staged, “If they can make Avatar, they can make anything.”
The former Prime Minister also said that killing innocent people to provide a reason for war is not new to the United States. “'But whether real or staged, the 9/11 attacks have served the United States and Western countries well. They have an excuse to mount attacks on the Muslim world,” reports the Malaysia Sun.
Throughout Dr. Mohamad’s speech, he criticized U.S. President Barack Obama for not delivering his promises of assisting West Asia, including a solution to the conflict between Israel and Palestine. He added that the President had promised to get out of Afghanistan but instead added troops to the region and did not close down the detention facility in Guantanamo Bay either, reports Asia One News.
“It is quite easy to promise during election time but you know there are forces in the United States which prevent the President from doing some things. One of the forces is the Jewish lobby.”
Dr. Mohamad added that the greatest injustice done to the Palestinian people was to take their land away from them and give it to the Jewish people instead. Further, he added the public opinions of powerful nations should not deter Malaysia from helping Palestine as much as they can.
“We live in a world that is only partially civilised. I say this because we still believe that the way to resolve conflicts between nations is to kill people in what is called war. The winner is the side which succeeds in killing the most number of people. Yet we vehemently declare that killing people is murder, a terrible crime worthy of the most severe punishment. We are being openly hypocritical. Mass killing is glorious but killing one man is a heinous crime.”
