Dallas Cowboys' Head Coach Wade Phillips turned the team around in the month of December, won a playoff game and found out he will return next season.
Dallas Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones has made his decision on the fate of Wade Phillips coaching career. Jones has decided to allow Wade Phillips to return next year as the Cowboys' head coach. Jerry hasn't decided on if he would offer Wade Phillips a contract extension which ends after the 2010 season.
Wade Phillips is expected to $3 million this upcoming season and was the NFL's only head coach defensive coordinator. The Cowboys still have made no official announcement on the decision and a Cowboys' spokesman said Wade Phillips won't be given a news conference this week.
Phillips won his first playoff game of his head coaching career and the Cowboys first win since 1996 when the Dallas Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles in a first round game, but was embarrassed the following week by the Minnesota Vikings. The Cowboys are 33-15 in the regular season under Wade and have won two NFC East titles in three seasons.
