A pedestrian has been killed in central Toronto after a Toronto Transit Commission bus struck the woman at the corner of a busy intersection, which was shut down for investigation.
A woman, believed to be roughly 50 years old, was struck by a bus on Monday morning at the corner of Eglinton Avenue East and Mount Pleasant Road in the central part of Toronto, according to CP24. The female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics attempted to revive the victim.
The intersection was then closed for investigation during Monday morning’s rush hour, reports the Toronto Star. Emergency Medical Services stated that she had “significant” injuries after being hit by the bus.
680 News notes that the bus was heading south on Mount Pleasant Road and made a right onto Eglinton when it hit the woman.
