Since the unknown flu epidemic began at the end of October in Ukraine, at least 940 people have died and more than 4 million have contracted the flu or flu-like infections.
The mysterious flu strain in Ukraine is continuing into its third month as more than 4.1 million people have contracted the flu and acute respiratory viral infections since the outbreak began on October 29, 2009, including 53,814 in the past 24 hours, according to the Black Association of National News Agencies.
Digital Journal reported at the end of December that 633 have died from the unidentified flu but since then, as of Jan. 13, at least 940 people passed away, notes the Ukrainian Health Ministry. In the past 24 hours alone, 22 people have died.
The Health Ministry has also warned the people of Ukraine of a possible second wave of flu and flu-like illnesses in January.
