The Associated Press announced today who the National Football League's All Pro football team for 2009 will be. Running back Chris Johnson heads list.
The Associated Press released its 2009 NFL All Pro team and the only unanimous decision was Tennessee Titan's running back Chris Johnson. The backfield was completed with fellow running back Adrian Peterson, full back Leonard Weaver and League's Most Valuable Player Peyton Manning.
Peyton Manning’s main passing target tight end Dallas Clark also made the squad along with Houston Texans Andre Johnson and New England Patriots Wes Welker rounding out the receiving corp.
The offensive line consisted of Denver Broncos offensive tackle Ryan Clady and Cleveland Browns tackle Joe Thomas along with Minnesota Vikings Steve Hutchinson and New Orleans Saints Jahri Evans at the guard spot and New York Jets center Nick Mangold.
The defensive all pro team looked outstanding with defensive ends Jared Allen from the Minnesota Vikings and Dwight Freeney of the Indianapolis Colts. The defensive tackles given this honor was Dallas Cowboys Jay Ratliff and Vikings big men Kevin Williams. To finish off the front eight for the all pro team was middle linebackers Ray Lewis from the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco's Patrick Willis along with Dallas Cowboys outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware and Denver Broncos Elvis Dumervil.
The secondary consisted of shut down corners New York Jets top performer Darrelle Revis and NFL defensive player of the year Charles Woodson from the Green Bay Packers. New Orleans Saints safety Darren Sharper and Arizona Cardinals Adrian Wilson rounded up the defensive selections.
Special team players was returner Joshua Cribbs from the Cleveland Browns, punter Shane Lechler of the Oakland Raiders and San Diego's place kicker Nick Kaeding.
