By Owen Weldon     Jan 14, 2010 in World
Officials said that the United States is keeping a close eye on Al Qaeda in Yemen after they received a credible threat from the group.
One official said that the threat does not gesture anything specific and a second official said that they connected the dots to something that could happen at any minute.
Al Qaeda are already adapting to the brand new security measures that are in place in the United States and concerns are being raised in part of th new security measures, according to an official.
Officials followed up on the case of the airplane bomber, on Christmas day Omar Farouk AbdulMutallab had explosives in his underwear, and found information relevant to aviation, according to a third offical. A fourth official also said that the information was confirmed and the information had to do with aviation and Al Qaeda. The information is credible and enough to raise measurable concern, the fourth official added.
Sources also say that they have information regarding the time frame and that the information is more reliable than it usually is.
Officials do not have location information and officials are not saying if they have names or nationalities of people who are involved with the threat. As of now no additional security measures have been added because aviation security is already rigid. The information will continue to be analyse and there is going to be alot of stuff going on the next few days relating to analysing the threat and information.
Officials believe that the December 25th, 2009 was not the last threat was almost carried out and they believe that Al Qaeda in Yemen are continuing to plan and plot. After the attempted attack by AbdulMutallab, Al Qaeda in Yemen are being looked at very closely.
