Georgia Tech handed Duke their first ACC loss of the year and their second loss on the season in Atlanta Saturday afternoon.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets ranked 17th knocked off the 5th ranked Duke Blue Devils Saturday afternoon 71-67 in Atlanta. The Yellow Jackets were led by Gani Lawal, who had 21 points and 9 rebounds, Zachary Peacock added 11 points off the bench as well.
Duke who led by six at the half couldn't hang on in the second half as they were outscored 42-32.
Duke was 26 for 60 (43.3%) compared to the 22 for 53 (41.5%) shooting from the field by teh Yellow Jackets. Tech also was better at the free throw line hitting 78.6% compared to just 64.3% by the Blue Devils. From behind the 3-point arch Duke hit 6 shots compared to 5 by the Yellow Jackets. Still, Georgia Tech only took 14 shots from that distance.
Duke was led by Jon Scheyer's 25 points.
Georgia Tech improves their record to 12-3 and 1-1 in the ACC, while Duke falls to 13-2 and also 1-1 in the ACC.
