Canada's Health Minister Yves Bolduc has announced that the second wave of swine flu has finished in Canada. The good news is followed by the prediction that the flu is expected back later.
There are still cases of
swine flu in Canada but it appears that the spread of the virus has slowed.
Bolduc said that the seasonal flu vaccine is now ready for those in high-risk groups. For a fee those who are not in the high risk groups can also get the vaccine.
In Quebec almost 4.4 million people were vaccinated for the swine flu.
In total 410
people have died from the H1N1 virus in Canada. Most of the deaths were in Ontario (121) and Quebec (106). Between August 30 and December 19, 2009 6,951 people had been hospitalized with H1N1.
