Radio host Bobbie Tsankov, 31, has been killed in Sofia. The Bulgarian journalist died instantly as he was shot by gunmen in Sofia on Tuesday near a fast food restaurant.
Two other men who were with the
journalist were taken to hospital with injuries from the shooting.
The gunmen were able to escape on foot.
Recently
Tsankov had made claims that he was about to reveal information about Bulgarian drug lords. He was known for his reports on organized crime in the nation.
Tsankov had in the past been accused of fraudulently promising advertising in exchange for money.
Tsanko had bodyguards since an explosion in 2003 next to his residence.
Two years ago in Sofia another writer who targeted organized crime,
Georgi Stoev was killed in a similar attack.
