article imageNewark Airport on Lockdown

By Michael Bearak     Jan 3, 2010 in Travel
Newark's Liberty Airport is currently on lockdown as Transportation Security Administration officials search for a man who went through the exit of a security checkpoint into the secured area.
A breech in security has lead to a lockdown of Newark's Liberty Airport as Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials have grounded all flights, and nothing is coming into or going out of Newark. A man entered the secure part of the airport without going through a screening checkpoint by going through the exit side of the checkpoint.
This occurred around 5:30 Sunday evening in Terminal "C". After reviewing security videos the secure part of the terminal was evacuated. The errant individual has not been found as of 9:00pm this evening, so the entire airport remains on lockdown.
All people who have been evacuated from the secure part of the airport will have to go through screening again.
No additional information was reported at the time Fox News broke this story.
