NCAA: Bowden Gets Final Win in Gator Bowl

The Gator Bowl was a special game as the the team Bobby Bowden coached West Virginia and the team he coaches now Florida State played each other in his final game.
Today was a great day for football in Jacksonville, Florida as the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Florida State Seminoles compete in a very special Gator Bowl. With Florida States' Head Coach Bobby Bowden finally stepping down from coaching, the NCAA thought it would be a treat to pit the two teams Bobby Bowden coached against each other at Municipal Stadium.
West Virginia struck first with a Jarrett Brown 32 yard touchdown run and Florida State quickly reacted with a 26 yard field goal. West Virginia posted another touchdown before the end of the first quarter. Florida State got on track scoring the next twenty points with two field goals and two touchdowns.
The Mountaineers scored a touchdown to stay with in two points, but the Seminoles added another field goal and touchdown to finish the Mountaineers 33-21. West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith was 8 of 15 for 96 yards and tailback Noel Devine rushed 16 times for 169 yards and a touchdown. Florida States' quarterback was 17 for 24 with 189 yards passing and rushed for a touchdown and running back Jermaine Thomas had 2 touchdowns with 121 yards on 25 carries to give Bobby Bowden his 389 win.
