article imageCollege Basketball: No. 10 UConn falls to Cincinnati

By Michael Bearak     Dec 30, 2009 in Sports
The Connecticut Huskies will end 2009 on a losing note as they dropped their third game of the season, this one on the road to Cincinnati.
The UConn Huskies were #10 when the day started; fortunately the new polls won't come out until after the start of the New Year, but at that time the Huskies will undoubtedly be lower as they fell on the road to unranked Cincinnati 71-69. Connecticut never led by more than two points while the Bearcats where able to build a 12 point lead at one point.
Cincinnati lead in all shooting categories, hitting 25-61 from the field for .410, while edging out UConn 24-64 or .375. Cincinnati was 7 for 15 from behind the arch while UConn was just 4 for 13.
Cincinnati's Lance Stephenson lead the Bearcats' in scoring with 21 points, while Jerome Dyson lead the Huskies with 24 points.
