Man detained after flying with firecracker

By KJ Mullins     Dec 28, 2009 in Travel
A passenger flying into LaGuardia Airport Sunday night has been detained by the FBI after boarding with an explosive device.
The man was on board Piedmont Airlines flight 4126. A crew member discovered the device after the plane had landed. A large firecracker type of device was found wedged between two seats.
Authorities were able to track down the passenger that had been on that seat during the flight.
Thomas Ouelette, 67, was to catch a flight to Fort Myers, Florida from the New York airport when he was located.
At this time the device is not being considered to be connected to terrorism. Ouelette, however had two warrants out from Florida for "unlawful flight."
