article imageCollege football: USC's McKnight clear to practice

By Michael Bearak     Dec 24, 2009 in Sports
The University of Southern California has been preparing for their upcoming Emerald Bowl game expecting to play without the services of junior Joe McKnight.
While the USC Trojans have been preparing without Joe McKnight, questions have been raised about McKnight's eligibility after reportedly being seen driving around in an SUV. USC has been conducting a thorough investigation as to the rumors and as of today McKnight has been cleared to resume practicing with the team.
The Trojans are set to face Boston College on Saturday in the Emerald Bowl. Pete Carroll said they are still waiting to hear whether or not McKnight will be allowed to play in the game or not.
"Compliance hasn't made a final ruling, but this is a most favorable sign," Carroll said Thursday.
McKnight has eight touchdowns this season and has led the Trojans in rushing with 1014 yards.
