Following an incident at Milton Keynes Theatre on Saturday night, singer Amy Winehouse has been charged with common assault.
Amy Winehouse, 26, from Hertfordshire, UK, was charged with a public order offence and common assault after an incident on Saturday night. It's alleged that she disrupted a performance of Cinderella and then assaulted a twenty-seven-year old theatre manager at Milton Keynes Theatre, in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, UK.
Winehouse, who was charged under the name 'Amy Civil', was arrested after voluntarily attending Milton Keynes police station with her legal advisor. She was formally arrested on Wednesday afternoon by officers from the Thames Valley Police.
January 20 is the date set for her court appearance at Milton Keynes Magistrates Court.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said, "A woman from Hertfordshire has today been charged in connection with an assault at Milton Keynes Theatre on Saturday night. Amy Civil attended Milton Keynes police station voluntarily with her legal advisor at 1:15 p.m. this afternoon. She was formally arrested by officers from Thames Valley Police on suspicion of assault and public order."
