After the McKnight SUV issue this past week. The fact that the NCAA is investigating Reggie Bush and O.J. Mayo the hits just came with 3 players being suspended this week from the Emerald Bowl.
Three USC Trojans will not be joining their teammates at the Emerald Bowl against Boston College. Tight end Anthony McCoy, offensive tackle Tyron Smith, and defensive tackle Averell Spicer were all deemed academically in-eligible.
McCoy and Smith were both starters and both had earned honorable mention PAC-10 honors. McCoy and Spicer were both seniors and Spicer was a key reserve.
"We're really disappointed these guys didn't come through," USC coach Pete Carroll said in a statement. "They had all the help in the world to get it done and they didn't do it."
