Popular actress and singer-songwriter LeAnn Rimes is divorcing her husband of six years due to 'irreconcilable' differences. It was her husband though who filed for divorce and asked Rimes to pay spousal support and his attorney fees
LeAnn Rimes and Deane Sheremet are going separate ways.
The couple married in 2002, but separated after reports claimed
Rimes was having an affair with Eddie Cibrian, her co-star in the Lifetime movie Northern Lights. Cibrian filed for divorce from his wife, Brandi Glanville, last week.
LeAnn and Dean met when when he was chosen to dance during the 2001 Academy of Country Music Awards where the popular country singing idol was the program host.
After her first date with Sheremet, Rimes told InStyle Magazine that, "This is the guy I want to marry," So they got married in 2002 and after over six years the couple separated and and September, 2009 Rimes announced they were divorcing.
Rimes and Sheremet have no children.
"After much thoughtful mutual consideration, Deane and I have agreed to move forward with dissolving our marriage," Rimes announced on her website, using her husband's given name. "This decision was amicable and we remain committed and caring friends with great admiration for one another. Thank you so much for all of your continued love and support — it is deeply appreciated."
Rimes is currently dating Eddie Cibrian, her co-star in her movie,
Northern Lights. Cibrian is married with two small children. . He recently filed for divorce to pave the way for his marriage with the popular actress and song artist.
