NBA: New Orleans Hornets outlast Denver Nuggets

New Orleans Hornets' guard Chris Paul had an outstanding game leading his team past Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets.
The New Orleans Hornets were playing host to the Denver Nuggets at the New Orleans Arena in Louisiana. The Denver Nuggets brings in leading scorer of the National Basketball Association Carmelo Anthony.
The New Orleans Hornets took control of the first quarter clamping down on the league's leading scorer holding him to 2 points and 1 point in the second. Carmelo had to lead by distributing the ball and grabbing rebounds with 5 assists and 4 rebounds. Hornets Chris Paul showed off his passing skills the first half with 12 assists and put in 4 points, but the Nuggets were led by guard Ty Lawson who scored 9 second quarter points giving the Nuggets a 52-46 halftime lead.
The New Orleans Hornets came into the third quarter offensive minded, going on a 23-13 scoring run. Chris Paul led by example scoring 16 third-quarter points and ended the game one rebound short of a triple double. Chris Paul scored 30 points, had 19 assists and 9 rebounds to beat the Nuggets 98-92. Carmelo Anthony struggled ending the game with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
