Butch Jones New Head Coach at Cincinnati

By Kristofor Molson     Dec 16, 2009 in Sports
Head football Coach Butch Jones replaces new Notre Dame Head coach Brian Kelly at Cincinnati, but it’s not the first time.
When Head coach Brian Kelly left Central Michigan's football program before their bowl game in 2006 to coach Cincinnati Central Michigan hired Butch Jones and when Brian Kelly left Cincinnati the same way the Cincinnati program hired Butch Jones.
Butch Jones took over the Central Michigan Chippewas in 2006 and led them to a 26-13 record in three years and led them to two Mid-American Conference championships. Butch Jones managed the Chippewas to an 11-2 record and a GMAC Bowl game versus Troy on January 6.
Central Michigan confirmed Wednesday that Butch Jones is in contract negotiations with Cincinnati and directed the press to contact the University of Cincinnati for further questions. The Associated Press reports that Butch Jones has agreed to a five year contract.
