Reports indicate that the 32 year old right-handed pitcher, who would be a free agent after 2010-2011 season, has been traded to the the Philadelphia Phillies. Philadelphia prospects are expected to be involved in the deal.
The deal will also involve pitcher Cliff Lee, who is
reported to have been sent to Seattle.
Details of the trade are being finalized.
Roy Halladay had 17 wins and 10 losses last season and made his major league debut with the Toronto club in 1998. He is a career 148-76 with an ERA of 3.43 and 1495 strikeouts.
