Timothy Bradley defeats Lamont Peterson by UD at the Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, California Saturday night and retains the WBO light welterweight title.
Timothy "Desert Storm" Bradley remained undefeated as he defeated fellow undefeated fighter and friend Lamont "Havoc" Peterson Saturday night at the Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, California.
Prior to the fight most media experts predicted Peterson to win for they felt he was the more experienced and tougher fighter of the two, but from the opening it bell it would appear that Bradley was the more experienced fighter as he was clearly out boxing and beating Peterson to the punch round after round.
In the 3rd round Bradley landed a big right hand on the top of Peterson's head that knocked him down. Peterson complained that he felt it was an illegal punch to the back of his head as the referee denied his complaints and continue to count to eight.
After 12 rounds of action the judges scored the fight unanimously for Bradley 118 to 110, 119 to 108, 120 to 107.
Peterson loses his first fight of his career and falls to a record of 27(13)-1
Bradley remains undefeated and improves his record to 25(11)-0.
Bradley was open to fight any of the other top ranked light welterweights when asked about Amir Khan, and Ricky Hatton.
