By Kristofor Molson     Dec 12, 2009 in Sports
The no. 20 Butler Bulldogs upset the no. 15 Ohio State Buckeyes 74-66 today to shake up the NCAA's top 25 national rankings.
The Ohio State Buckeyes’ men's basketball team has been one of the premiere teams to beat over the past few years and the no. 20 Butler Bulldogs wanted to accomplish that feat. The Bulldogs were lead early by Matt Howard and Gordon Hayward in helping Butler keep the lead over the Buckeyes most of the first half.
Ohio State's swing man David Lighty and guard William Buford tried to keep pace with Bulldogs as both were the leading scorers of the team, but shots just didn't fall towards the end of the game. The Butler Bulldogs outscored the Ohio State Buckeyes 40-30 helping the Bulldogs win 74-66.
Bulldog's forward Gordon Hayward scored a game high 24 points and snagged 8 rebounds to lead his team to victory. Three other players scored in double figures, but forward Willie Veasley added 15 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists to end the game.
