A new advertising campaign from the Republican National Committee paints a complicated picture of what Americans could face under the health care legislative plans being pushed forward by the lead Democratic team of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
"It used to be that a simple phone call was all you needed to see your doctor," the man in the commercial begins. "But those days are gone."
The health care debate has entered the late stages of a marathon, with the senate
now in session seven days a week.
However, Republican senators remain opposed to the Democrats plans, and the new ad campaign seeks support from the American people - urging outreach to their senators.
"Health care is one-sixth of our GDP - that's one-sixth of our economy. And we're going to change it all in the blink of an eye," the advertisement asks. "We all know we need reform, but is this really the way to do it?"
