Rolling Stones guatarist Ron Wood, 62, was released on bail Thursday after being arrested by the police on Wednesday evening. The police in Esher, England confirm he was picked up but are not saying what the charges are other than it was an assault.
The police in Esher have only said that a man was picked up Wednesday evening for suspicion of assault in connection with a domestic incident on Claygate High Street, reports 680 News.
Rolling Stone reports that Ekaterina Ivanova,21, is the suspected victim of the alleged assault.
A passerby to the incident is said to have called 999. The Guardian reports:
Celine Dixon, who lives nearby, told the Sun: "We heard a woman screaming, then saw a man pinning her to the ground.
"He was shouting at her then we heard choking sounds so my boyfriend rushed out to help. When he got outside he saw it was Ronnie and Ekaterina."
Wood was recently divorced after an affair with his 21-year-old girlfriend. It's said that his former wife Jo Wood was granted a settlement of £6.5 million when the divorce was granted on grounds of adultery.
