The health crisis in Ukraine is unparallel to any of the current H1N1 situations across the globe and now the government has released the death figures from the month of November.
Since the beginning of the epidemic in Ukraine, 1.94 million people have contracted the unknown influenza and a total of 445 people have died, according to a report issued by the Health Ministry on Wednesday.
The statistics further show that 116,982 people have been hospitalized but just under 94,000 have been released. Over the last 24 hours, a little fewer than 44,000 have been infected with the mysterious influenza. However, BSANNA News does note more than 51,000 cases have been registered over the last day.
All the regions of Ukraine have been tested, including the cities Kyiv and Sevastopol.
Digital Journal reported in November that the unknown influenza strain has mutated into a black lung epidemic because many doctors are finding their patients with blackened lungs as they experience a burning sensation.
Nevertheless, according to NPR, the World Health Organization concluded that there was nothing unusual about the flu outbreak in Ukraine.
