Wisconsin upsets Duke

By Kristofor Molson     Dec 3, 2009 in Sports
In the Big Ten ACC challenge the Wisconsin Badgers takes on No. 5 Duke Blue Devils in Madison, Wisconsin and takes advantage of home court.
The Big Ten ACC challenge has been an exciting start to the college basketball season. First it was the great rematch between the Michigan State Spartans and the North Carolina Tar Heels. Then the Fighting Illini of Illinois made the greatest come back in school history by coming back from a 23 points deficit against the Clemson Tigers and Wisconsin verse Duke didn't fail to excite as well.
The Wisconsin Badgers took on the Duke Blue Devils and took control of the game from the opening tip. The Wisconsin Badger's Trevon Hughes scored the first points of the game and lead his team to a crucial win with 26 points, but the Duke Blue Devil's forward Kyle Singler tried to stop the attack by countering with 28 points of his own.
From the get go it looked liked Wisconsin was going to control the game by leading the Blue Devils the whole first half, but Coach K made half time adjustments that would actually make a game out of it. The Duke Blue Devils made a surge in the second half and made the game close in the end. At the end of the second half it came down to if the Badgers could make their free throws. Jordan Taylor made both of his free throws with two seconds left in the game and the Badgers pulled off the upset. With that win the Big Ten won the challenge for the first time since it's existence.
