The latest news was sent to employees at the Toronto newspaper via a memo on Monday.
The editing jobs will now be contracted out to Pagemasters North America.
Digital Journal
reported on November 3 that the proposed severance package was sent to the newspaper staffers.
At that timeToronto Star spokesman Bob Hepburn said that employees had until November 30 to sign up for the plan.
An employee at Toronto Star who wished not to be named told Digital Journal that the proposed severance package is still on the table and that as far as he knows the planned layoffs are not set in stone. The notice had not affected this newsman's work ethnic, he was busy working to get the next story for the city's readers.
