Adam Lambert's racy performance at the American Music Awards has caused the morning news show Good Morning America to cancel a planned appearance featuring the former American Idol star.
Lambert commented on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show Tuesday, saying that he respected the morning show's decision, reports
Extra.
"Obviously it's too bad. I think there were a lot of fans that were excited to see me here in New York tomorrow, so I think that's probably kind of disappointing for them, and I feel bad about that."
During the American Music Awards, Lambert's set included a male-on-male kiss and simulated oral sex.
Lambert believes that because of the hour that he performed, it should be considered late-night television. He also pointed out that other performers were controversial, including Rihanna having guns in her act, Eminem rapping about rape and a whiskey bottle smash by Lady Gaga.
Canada.com reports that Lambert told Rolling Stone after the awards show that he attempting "was not to piss people off, it was to promote freedom of expression and artistic freedom."
