An argument between a seated passenger and a straphanger ended in the death of the passsenger after he was asked to move his bag so the knife-weilding man could sit down.
A man described by other passengers as a hulk wearing a polo shirt with the words, "Terminate Control" senselessly stabbed another rider to death, as horrified passengers looked on. The New York Post reports it happened in the first car of the train at the northbound 7th Avenue station, in front of about two dozen riders. The train's conductor heard something happening and quickly locked all the doors, so no one would escape until police could arrive.
Police were quickly on the scene, telling reporters that the deadly confrontation began after the 36-year old male victim refused to move one of his bags off a seat where the suspect said he wanted to sit. A police source said...
"There was an argument over a seat and the victim was stabbed,"
They say the suspect, 37-year old Geraldo Sanchez, of the Bronx, New York, allegedly pulled out a knife and viciously repeatedly stabbed the man in the neck and face, splattering blood everywhere.
Police say Sanchez has at least one prior arrest in 2002 for drugs. There is speculation that he might be an employee of an exterminator company because of his T-shirt, but there is no confirmation on that so far.
