In October, the Democratic National Committee raised $11.5 million, while the Republican National Committee raised $8.79 million.
Democrats across the United States are cheering this week as it was released that the DNC raised more than the Republicans last month, according to CNN. In October, the DNC raised $11.5 million, while the Republican Party received $8.79 million.
The Hill notes that the Republican Party currently has $11.2 million and no debt, while the Democrats sit at $12.3 million and $4.4 million in debt. The RNC’s cash is down $8 million as the GOP spent astronomical amounts of money on the gubernatorial candidates in New Jersey and Virginia, which they both won back from the Democrats.
Both parties raised significant amount of cash even in an off-election year.
Talking Point Memo reports that year-to-date the DNC has raised $73.3 million and the RNC has raised $76.9 million.
