The big fight that took place Nov. 14 between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto ended in a TKO win for Pacquiao in the 12th round. So if you were betting how much money would you have won if you picked that exact round?
The biggest fight of the year ended in a devastating TKO stoppage in the 12th round where Manny Pacquiao, the sport's No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter, defeated WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto when the referee Bayless saw Cotto was taking just way too much punishment and decided to end the fight.
Two weeks earlier, I had the honor of interviewing Team Pacquiao at the world famous Wild Card gym in Hollywood, California.
In this now famous video interview, the majority of Team Pacquiao were quite hesitant to declare an official prediction in terms of which round they truly felt Manny would defeat Cotto.
On the other hand, head trainer Freddie Roach was very clear on his prediction and gave an official prediction of rounds: 1, 9, and 10 for Manny to knock out Cotto. Obviously the great trainer and great round predictor Roach was not correct this time, as Pacquiao stopped Cotto in the 12th round via TKO.
So the real question now is how much money would one win if you were lucky enough to predict the correct round that Manny would stop Cotto?
According to one Las Vegas sports book location, a 12th round TKO for Manny Pacquiao was listed at 12 to 1 odds. Meaning if you placed $100 dollars on a 12th round TKO for Manny Pacquiao then you would win $1,300 dollars.
So how many people were lucky enough to nail the exact round and win a nice chunk of change? Well, I was one and the image above shows my winning ticket.
According to the sports book where I cashed this winning ticket, only two people had came in that day to collect their winnings for the 12th round TKO for Manny Pacquiao.
So what was the most picked round that everyone bet on according to the Las Vegas sports book representative? Round 5.
