For the second time in less than a week, a vehicle related to Vice President Joe Biden’s motorcade has been involved in a traffic accident.
The Secret Service has reported an advance vehicle, provided by the New York City Police Department, has collided with another vehicle in New York City Tuesday night. New York City police report multiple injuries, including two NYC police officers and a cab driver. All three were hospitalized with minor injuries.
The police vehicle was traveling ahead of the Vice Presidents motorcade when the accident occurred. Biden’s motorcade was able to continue along it’s intended route uninterrupted.
Earlier in the week, a sheriffs deputy in Albuquerque, New Mexico was also injured when a woman attempted to drive around a police barricade, striking the deputy’s squad car.
The vice president has been traveling around the southwestern U.S. this week, touting the Obama administration economic stimulus plan. He has also been appearing at various fundraising events, to help finance Democratic candidates vying for seats in Congress.
