Two married tax preparers from Chino Hills were convicted on four felony counts related to income tax fraud. Aloysius Vivo, 55 and Rachel Vivo, 47 work for Vivo-Cota & Associates.
The San Bernardino Sun reports the convictions stem from a 2001 tax return the couple filed. On that return, the couple claimed a child credit they were not eligible for. They also failed to report income they paid to people known as "cappers" who helped find clients for their business, according to the California Franchise Tax Board. They face a possible 5 year prison sentence. They also face fraud charges in San Bernardino County for allegedly filing false tax returns in 2002, according to court records.
