The mother of the newly crowned WBO welterweight champion, Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao, said she wants her son to quit boxing after seeing him with bandages and a swollen face.
Manny Pacquiao's mother, Dionisia, said after seeing her son with bandage on his ear and swollen face, she wished her son would quit boxing.
Mommy Dionisia, as she is known among her movie fans, was in her room in Mandalay Bay praying to God for a safe fight by the Filipino boxing icon against the Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto.
When the budding supporting actress saw her son after the fight with bandages and a swollen face as shown tin the ABS-CBN News video report, she cried and said she doesn't want her son fight again
Manny Pacquiao has just won in his 'Firepower" fight with Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico via a 12th round TKO after referee Kenny Bayless stopped the fight 55 minutes into the last round.
Mommy Dionisia is currently doing a movie with former Philippine president Joseph Estrada as the leading actor together with Filipino comedian Ai-Ai de las Alas.and other popular Filipino entertainers.The movie will be shown in the Philippines shortly.
Pacquiao's celebrity Mom is also doing a recording together with the popular Philippine song artist Imelda Papin.
In the meantime Pacquiao, who made arrangement for a thanksgiving mass right after his fight with Miguel Cotto, is scheduled to visit his fellow boxer Z. Gorres who won his fight earlier at the Mandalay Bay on a unanimous decision but suffered a knock down in the last round. Gorres is at the intensive unit of a hospital in Las Vegas after he was operated to remove a blood clot in his head.
The popular Filipino boxer is also scheduled to do a concert Tuesday at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas. Other than boxing, Pacquiao is also into acting and singing.
Manny Pacquiao is expected to return to Manila Friday this week.
