Website: The ugliest people in the world are Britons

Who says beauty is in the eye of the beholder? A website says that British men and women are the ugliest people in the world but then who are the world's most beautiful people?

A website that was established in Denmark in 2002 and went global last month states that British men and women are the ugliest people in the world, reports the Telegraph. According to a site called BeautifulPeople.com that only allows beautiful people to join their website, less than one in eight British men and three in 20 women who have attempted to join the website have been accepted. How are people rated? Well, existing members of the opposite sex rate new potential members over a 48 hour period after they upload a photograph of themselves and a personal profile. As The Toronto Star notes, the options given are: Yes definitely," "Hmm yes, O.K," "Hmm no, not really" and "No definitely not." So far, Swedish men and Norwegian women have boded well with 65 per cent of Swedish men being accepted and 76 per cent of Norwegian women being welcomed to the new site. Managing Director Greg Hodge said, “I would say Britain is stumbling because they don't spend as much time polishing up their appearance and they are letting themselves down on physical fitness. Next to Brazilian and Scandinavian beauties, British people just aren't as toned or glamorous.” According to Reuters, German men and women are not faring well either as only between 13 per cent and 15 per cent are accepted. But Hodge believes it’s because they submit “stern” photos of themselves and they “need to soften up.”
