For decades, The Hudson's Bay Company at Yonge Street and Queen Street present a special Christmas display in their windows to celebrate the holiday season.
The City of Toronto has created a special initiative for the holiday season called “Window Wonderland,” which is actually part of “Winter Magic,” where certain stores commemorate the holiday season by decorating their windows with Christmas displays under a certain budget.
However, the Hudson’s Bay Company has been conducting such seasonal affairs for decades and has brought families together to bask in its tender and heart warming scenes. This year, the Bay has five windows along Queen Street showing families, small towns, merchants and Santa Claus and his elves celebrate Christmas by decorating their Christmas trees, sitting by an open fire in their homes, singing Christmas Carols or having a feast.

One lady told
Digital Journal that ever since the window decorating has been around she has been coming every year on several occasions to enjoy the warmth that the Christmas spirit can exude. It seems a lot of Torontonians enjoy the windows as they walk by and smile as all of the artistic characters seem to be cozy and joyful.
The nostalgic and sentimental artistic animations along Queen Street have been around since 1914 and past themes have been Victorian, futuristic and a variety of others. During the 1970s and 1980s, two major giants, The Bay and The Simpsons, actually competed with their Christmas window decorations.

As the one lady told
Digital Journal, the windows will live on for generations and, in jest, passed her lifespan. Indeed, the Bay Christmas windows are a common bond that many Torontonians can share.
