By Alethea Borgman     Nov 14, 2009 in Entertainment
Daniel Radcliffe, the 20-year-old star of the "Harry Potter" series was captured smoking what looked like a marijuana joint on a mobile phone camera at a London party. A fellow guest said Radcliffe declared he "loved weed."
"He looked spaced out and didnt look like he knew what was going on," said Wadia Tazi, a 26-year-old guest at the party. According to the Daily Mirror, Tazi said Radcliffe looked familiar but he couldn't quite figure out who he was. "He pulled out a huge joint and lit up," said Tazi. "Daniel said he loved it. He seemed happy that neither of us knew who he was. Daniel looked spaced out and away with the fairies. He didn't want us to recognise him."
According to Reuters, Radcliffe categorically denied the claims.
"Daniel does smoke the occasional roll-up cigarette, but he was not doing anything more than this," his spokeswoman said in a statement on Friday. "We are considering our position and will be taking all necessary action in relation to such allegations."
The actor was pictured in Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper on Nov. 13 with what they called a a roll-up cigarette as a friend painted a moustache on his face at a get-together with mates.
The newspaper alleged Radcliffe was puffing-pot at the bash but he denied the claims and is now considering taking legal action.
The latest rumors follow the 20-year-old’s decision to invest £3.76 million on a building on West 12th Street. The building was built by a sea captain for one of his daughters in the 19th Century. With just five bedrooms, Radcliffe’s new town house measures a 3,000 sq. ft. and includes a garden that stretches to almost 40 ft.
Radcliffe's property portfolio is worth about £10 million, as he also owns a place in in New York as well as a flat in Fulham, West London.
