Live from Las Vegas, Nevada at the biggest fight of the year. Both Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto make weight for their super mega welter weight.
It was a maximum capacity crowd at the MGM Grand weigh in for Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto. Crowds got so huge that security began to put up barricades of security guards making a human fence several hundred yards away from the entrance of the MGM Grand arena.
With the majority of the fans being predominantly of Puerto Rican descent and Filipino descent it was evident that the super mega fight titled Firepower has finally began to take over the Las Vegas strip. It was reported by one MGM security guard that the crowds total in excess of 7,000 fans all trying to get into a free weigh in open to all the general public.
The biggest concern of Team Pacquiao was whether Cotto was going to weigh in under the contractual catch weight agreement of 145lbs. Miguel weighed in at 145lbs on the dot. Manny weighed in at 144lbs.
Trainer Freddie Roach had made it clear that if Cotto did not make their agreed catch weight limit he would be fined 1 million dollars per excess pound and that if he did not make the 147lb welter weight limit then there would be no fight at all.
There was a minor altercation between trainers Roach and Cotto's trainer Santiago on stage where it appeared Santiago made a remark to Roach.
Also in the house for the weigh in were fighters: Nonito Donaire, Juan Manuel Lopez, Roberto Duran, Antonio Margarito, and Julio Ceasar Chavez Jr.
Both Cotto and Pacquiao looked chiseled and in tremendous shape on stage.
At the current time Cotto is the under dog at a betting odd of +250 to Manny Pacquiao being the favorite at -300.
