Iran’s Chief of Joint Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said on Friday that the United States government is using Iran as an excuse to increase the country's military budget.
According to research by the Center for Research on Globalization, the United States government is going to spend at least $680 billion in 2010 after President Barack Obama signed the measure in October. However, the budget could increase as the study cites many army generals foreseeing future combative roles across the world.
On Friday, reports Press TV, Iran’s chief of Joint Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi made a connection between the very weak United States economy to its military spending and stated, “While the financial crisis caused by high military spending and flawed domineering decisions has broken the back of a major group of people in the US, certain advisers and members of Congress are busy propagandizing about Iran's nuclear program.”
He further iterated, according to United Press International, that his country’s nuclear technology ambitions are peaceful and there are no military objectives. Firouzabadi concluded that the US should end all wars and focus its military budget on peaceful purposes and that would be the only way the financial crises could come to an end in America.
“It is in the best interest of Americans to use the strength of their youth and national assets to save their nation.”
