A study of 75,000 calls to a technical support company shows that most men, surprisingly enough, do not read the instructions before calling for support.
The old cliche goes something like this: If all else fails, read the instructions. For men, that doesn't appear to ring true anymore.
Instead, the final solution is now to just call technical support.
A new study, completed by Gadget Helpline, shows that most men do not open the manual before calling technical support.
According to ars technia, Gadget Helpline screened 75,000 calls between September and October 2009. The results were not at all surprising.
Sixty-four percent of men who called had not opened the manual before placing the call. That's compared to 24 percent of women.
This study falls in line with the male tendency to believe in some sort of invincibility. A study by the Antivirus software company AVG revealed in 2008 revealed that men were significantly less likely to think their computer could be infected with a virus.
