After grueling weeks of training and physical conditioning in the Philippines and Los Angeles, California, Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and his entourage are moving to Las Vegas for his "Firepower" match with Miguel Cotto
Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao led his team in attending mass today at the Christ the King Church in Los Angeles, California before moving to Las Vegas for his date with Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto on Nov. 14 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
It's customary for Manny Pacquiao to put God first in his fight before anyone and anything else. Being a devout catholic, Pacquiao served in the morning mass and prayed for guidance in his "Firepower" match with Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico.
Pacquiao and his entourage will drive to Las Vegas in a convoy than includes a specially-painted bus provided by boxing promoter Bob Arum for use by Team Pacquiao. The final journey will last four to six hours from the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles to Las Vegas, Nevada.
As gmanews reports:
A convoy of vehicles is expected to accompany the Pacman – riding on his reliable black SUV – on the six-hour, 250-mile road trip from here to the world’s so-called “Gambling Capital."
Towing behind him are trainer Freddie Roach; conditioning coach Alex Ariza; family members that include wife Jinkee, mother Dionisia, father Rosalio; members of the media; and other close friends.
The Filipino boxing icon spent his last day in Los Angeles by jogging and later attending mass in the morning. After mass, he went back to his house and had lunch with the family. In the afternoon, he practiced with his band in preparation for his concert which will be staged in Las Vegas after his date with Cotto.
Boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines and WBO champion Miguel Cotto will collide on Sept. 14 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Nevada.
At stake is Cotto's WBO Championship belt.
