Police in London, UK, are growing increasingly concerned for the well being of an 11-year-old girl who has been missing from home since lunch time Sunday.
Leaving her Beaumont Road home in Wandsworth, west London at about 1 p.m. Sunday, Shannon Brown was seen approximately one-and-a-half hours later in Normand Park in Fulham, the last known sighting of her.
Scotland Yard is increasingly concerned by the messages that have been left on Facebook, since Shannon went missing today. Either Shannon, or someone who now has access to her account, has been updating her Facebook page since her disappearance.
While not wishing to reveal the content of the messages just yet, Metropolitan Police said they considered Shannon to be in a vulnerable position.
Police seem to believe it is Shannon updating her own status. One of the detectives searching for Shannon, DCI Mark Cranwell, said, "We do know she has had access to a computer as her Facebook page has been updated since she went missing, and her comments have led us to be most concerned for her welfare. Anyone who has seen Shannon or knows her whereabouts is asked to contact us immediately. And of course we ask Shannon herself, should she hear of these appeals, to contact her family or the police."
Shannon is described as white, approximately 5'3" tall with a fringe and long brown hair that was pulled into a ponytail the last time she was seen. She was wearing a black top with light-coloured trousers and black shoes. She was also wearing hoop earrings and carrying a pink handbag with a Nike tick on it.
